Celebrity Owned Restraunts In Atlanta

What is it about celebrities and restaurants? It isn't enough for them to conquer the acting or business world. Many seem to want to conquer the food world as well. So they open restaurants. Here are three celebrities who've found success in Atlanta with their restaurants.

Gladys Knight
Who would have thought that Gladys Knight would leave the Pips and start her own restaurant? But nowadays, at least in Atlanta, she seems more known for her amazing Gladys Knight's Chicken & Waffles restaurant than her singing. However, her celebrity status brings the crowds, so if you plan on visiting, make sure to get there early, as long lines can form.

Emily Saliers
Emily Saliers, of course, comprises one half of the Indigo Girls and is the owner of the Southern cuisine spot, Watershed on Peachtree . Though the Decatur location of Watershed closed in 2011, it reopened in Buckhead in 2012 and seems to be thriving, always under the direction of a well-accomplished chef.

Ted Turner
Many would argue that the last thing Atlanta needs is another burger joint. But successful entrepreneur and founder of CNN, Ted Turner, was on to something when he opened Ted's Montanta Grill. Ahead of it's time, some would say, the restaurant specializes in being environmentally friendly. The concept is a huge hit in Atlanta and has even expanded to more than 40 locations across the United States.
