Brunch Much

While we love an indulgent brunch just as much as the next Atlantan, who wants to wait in a long line? There are so many restaurants doing a robust, off-the-wall brunch. And it’s high time you knew about some of these spots. Here are seven choices you’ll want to add to your brunch rotation.

Across the Street
Located in Old Fourth Ward, Across the Street offers a full brunch menu on weekends. Highlights include the pan perdido with sliced bread soaked in tres leches batter, served with fresh berries and sugar dust; and crab Benedict, which is lump crab cake, spicy sautéed spinach and eggs with hollandaise.

Bad Dog Taqueria
While the name may not evoke a fancy brunch spot, this Emory University neighborhood find is certainly a hidden gem when it comes to brunch. First off, specialty coffees like a corto and macchiato abound. You’re doing it wrong if you don’t order Lola Belle doughnuts to go with your coffee. These potato doughnuts are gluten free and oh so delicious. Entrees like a frittata or the signature breakfast burrito with perfectly prepared chorizo and purple potatoes keep you full all day. Bad Dog serves brunch until 5 p.m.

Bone Lick BBQ
Let’s be honest, when you think of brunch, a barbecue restaurant isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. But the sweet, smokey, spicy sauce is perfect with these dishes. My favorite is the Cajun croque. Sandwiched between garlic toast you'll find house-cured tasso ham and melted Swiss with remoulade sauce, topped with a fried egg. Smoked beef hash is a perfectly formed cylinder of potatoes, brisket and a paprika cream sauce. Like your brunch sweet? Order the PB&J-stuffed French toast.

La Tavola Trattoria
While it may be hard to get into this quaint, Italian spot on Saturday night, it’s untapped as far as brunch goes. Highlights include the Italian sausage served with poached eggs and brunch potatoes as well as the flat iron and eggs with polenta.

Makan
We didn’t forget about you, Decatur. Available every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. are small plate bites, perfect for sharing. These include Asian favorites like dumplings, buns, sui mai and fried shrimp balls, not to mention the signature item, ramen. It's definitely a step outside the regular brunch options.

Pijiu Belly
"Pijiu" means “beer” in Mandarin. The name is fitting as the restaurant has a wide variety of craft brews. However, lesser known is their brunch menu. One of the most popular dishes is chicken and waffles, served with the restaurant's signature rotisserie chicken.

Sweet Auburn Barbecue
Barbecue for brunch? Join Sweet Auburn on Sundays between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a brunch buffet with classics like scrambled eggs, bacon and buttermilk biscuits plus Sweet Auburn’s signature dishes: sesame chicken and waffles, French toast and a barbecue carving station. Bottomless mimosas and bloody Marys are available.
